Overdenture Prostheses, Locator Prostheses

23.08.2026

In this video, our Klinik99 specialists provide information about Overdenture Prostheses, Locator Prostheses.

The video is narrated in Turkish; you can turn on automatic English captions in the video settings.

What are removable implant-supported prostheses? These are called snap-on prostheses in everyday language. That is, they are the bar-retained prostheses as we call them. What are they? If the jawbone is not sufficient and we cannot place enough implants, we place 2 or 4 implants and on top we place structures that include the pink aesthetics, that is, the tissues imitating the gums, supporting the cheek and tongue tissues, and the teeth as well, and they click onto the implants. The patient can easily remove it whenever they want, clean it and use it again. What is the difference between these implant-supported prostheses and those removable, take-out prostheses? They do not move, because they take support from the implant underneath and are fixed. Both when there is insufficient bone and when we do not want the prosthesis to move, we take support from the implants underneath and place these prostheses, that is, these are overdenture prostheses, on top.
