Causes of Gum Bleeding

23.08.2026

In this video, our Klinik99 specialists provide information about Causes of Gum Bleeding.

The video is narrated in Turkish; you can turn on automatic English captions in the video settings.

The most basic local cause of gum bleeding is bacterial plaque. Bacterial plaque is colonies of bacteria formed by food and food residues remaining on the tooth surface. If they are not removed, over time they turn into tartar. Bacterial plaque matures and turns into tartar in two ways: How? One is at the level that we can see on the tooth, above the gum; and the other settles under the gum and forms subgingival tartar. In all 3 situations, that is, whether the bacterial plaque is not yet mature, or has matured and turned into tartar, whether visible on the surface or deep, it causes gum bleeding.
