Root canal treatment means cleaning out inflamed or infected nerve tissue inside the tooth and filling the canals. The fee depends mainly on how many canals the tooth has: front teeth usually have one, premolars one or two, and molars usually three or more. Below are the root canal items in the Turkish Dental Association (TDB) 2026 fee tariff.

According to the tariff, one-canal treatment is 4,610.00 TL, two canals 7,220.00 TL and three canals 10,350.00 TL (including VAT). For teeth with more than three canals, 2,500.00 TL is added for each additional canal. Fees are slightly higher for teeth with an infection at the root tip (periapical lesion), for example 5,055.00 TL for one canal.
The Filling and Other Items Are Charged Separately
The root canal items above state "filling excluded". After root canal treatment, the top of the tooth must be closed with a filling or a crown, which is charged separately. Items that may be added depending on the case:

- Retreatment: If an earlier root canal treatment has failed, the old filling is removed and the canals are cleaned again; 4,510.00 TL per canal.
- Dressing: With a heavy infection, treatment may take more than one session; 1,205.00 TL per session.
- Post: In teeth with a lot of structure lost, a fibre post may be placed in the canal to retain the filling; 4,950.00 TL.
- X-rays: Periapical X-rays are taken before, during and after treatment; 830.00 TL per film.
What Affects the Cost?
- How many canals the tooth has and whether they are curved or narrowed
- Whether there is an infection at the root tip and how many sessions are needed
- Whether it is a first treatment or the retreatment of an old root canal
- Whether a filling or a crown (e.g. zirconia) is needed afterwards

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does a molar root canal cost more?
Molars usually have three or more canals. Since the tariff sets the fee by the number of canals, the total for a molar is higher.
Is a crown necessary after root canal treatment?
Not for every tooth. But root-filled teeth can become brittle over time, and the dentist may recommend a crown, especially for molars with a lot of structure lost. This is decided at the examination.
How many sessions does root canal treatment take?
Simple cases can often be completed in one session. With an infection or a lesion at the root tip, a dressing may be placed and two or more sessions may be needed.
