An impacted tooth is one that stays inside the jawbone or gum and cannot erupt normally. It is most common with wisdom teeth (third molars). Impacted teeth do not always cause problems, but removal is recommended in cases such as recurrent inflammation, pain, decay in the neighbouring tooth or a cyst. Below are the related items in the Turkish Dental Association (TDB) 2026 fee tariff.

If the tooth is very close to the nerve canal, a coronectomy, removing only the crown and leaving the roots, may be done; it is 10,450.00 TL in the tariff. Imaging Before Surgery
| Code | Procedure | Excl. VAT | Incl. 10% VAT |
|---|---|---|---|

| 1-24 | CBCT scan (regional) | 2,500.00 TL | 2,750.00 TL |
The position of the impacted tooth and its relation to the nerve canal are first assessed with a panoramic X-ray (2,040.00 TL). If the tooth looks very close to the nerve, a regional CBCT scan (2,750.00 TL) may be requested to plan surgery more safely.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should every impacted wisdom tooth be removed?
No. Impacted teeth that cause no problems and sit in a healthy position can be monitored with check-ups. Removal is recommended if there is pain, inflammation, damage to the neighbouring tooth or a cyst.
How long does the surgery take?
It depends on the tooth's position; most procedures take less than an hour under local anaesthesia. Teeth positioned deep in the bone may take longer.
Is a CBCT scan always needed?
No. A panoramic X-ray is enough in most cases. A CBCT scan is requested if the tooth's relation to the nerve canal is unclear.
